Before You Start
Before you begin, take a moment to lay out all panels and check that you’re happy with the print, colours, and how everything fits together. If anything doesn’t look quite right, please get in touch before you start hanging — I’m here to help sort it. Just keep in mind that once panels have been pasted or hung, I’m unable to offer replacements.
Returns and exchanges are accepted for incorrect, damaged, or defective items within 15 days of receipt. If your mural arrived damaged in transit, please photograph the damage and contact me at hello@kiinoodecor.com. I will respond as soon as possible to resolve the issue.

NOTE: Two people are strongly recommended for installation, especially for larger panels. A second pair of hands makes alignment much easier and reduces the risk of tearing.
Step 1 — Prepare the Wall
The wall must be clean, dry, and smooth before you begin. Fill any holes or cracks and allow filler to dry completely. Prime the wall — this improves adhesion and gives a more even result. If your wall has a strong colour, painting it white first is a good idea, as this will prevent any bleed-through beneath lighter areas of your mural.
Turn off the electricity at the relevant circuit and remove all faceplates, socket covers, light switches, and skirting boards in the area.
Step 2 — Mark Your Starting Line
The position of the first panel sets the tone for the entire installation, so take your time here. Using a spirit level and pencil, draw a precise vertical line on the wall to mark where the left edge of your first panel will sit. Check it is perfectly plumb — even a small angle will compound across subsequent panels.
Step 3 — Apply the Paste to the Wall
This is a paste-the-wall product. Apply paste directly to the wall — do not paste the back of the panels.
NOTE: Use only paste specifically formulated for non-woven or fleece wallpapers. These are clearly labelled in DIY shops. Using the wrong adhesive can cause the mural to warp, shrink, or fail to bond properly.
Apply paste evenly using a roller or brush, covering one panel-width at a time plus an extra 3–4 cm at the edge. Do not paste the whole wall at once — the paste will dry and become unusable. Work panel by panel as you go. Remove any paste that strays onto the ceiling or skirting immediately with a clean, damp sponge.
IMPORTANT: Getting the paste consistency right is important. Too much paste can seep through the paper and stain the decorative surface, or cause the mural to shrink or dry slowly. Too little and the edges may curl. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions on your paste packaging.
Step 4 — Hang the First Panel
Align the first panel with your vertical pencil line, starting at the top. Gently press the panel against the wall from the top downward, working slowly and smoothing as you go. Push out any air bubbles with your hands or a wallpaper brush, moving from the centre outward toward the edges, and from top to bottom.
Press the edges down carefully to ensure they are fully adhered. Wipe away any excess paste from the surface immediately using a damp soft cloth or sponge — do not allow it to dry on the printed surface.
Step 5 — Hang the Remaining Panels
Repeat the process for each subsequent panel, pasting the wall one section at a time. Align each new panel carefully against the previous one, matching the graphic elements before pressing it into place. There is no overlap — panels should meet edge to edge.
Step 6 — Smooth and Trim
Once all panels are hung, go over the entire mural with your smoothing brush or plastic smoother to remove any remaining air pockets, working from top to bottom. Then, using your metal ruler and a sharp knife, trim the excess paper at the ceiling and at the skirting in a single, clean, confident cut for the neatest finish.
Always use a fresh, sharp blade for trimming — a blunt knife will drag and tear rather than cut cleanly.
Step 7 — Allow to Dry
Leave your mural to dry undisturbed at room temperature for several hours. As it dries, the paper will tighten naturally and pull itself smooth against the wall. Avoid touching or cleaning the surface during this time.
Care & Maintenance
Your KIINOO mural is designed to last. To keep it looking its best:
- Clean only with a mild soap-and-water solution on a soft, lint-free cloth or sponge.
- Always clean from the top downward.
- Do not use products containing bleach or petroleum-based ingredients.
- Do not use scrubbing pads or abrasive sponges.
